Little check boxes and todays big long list
This is Teen Idol 401978. Love this boy- Just one year old and already super cute. He was left here as a stray. The people who found him opened a car dog and he jumped right in and wagged his tail the whole way to our door. Then... he stopped. Now he has shut down. I love this guy - look at those ears!
400608 Ebony- Every one needs a black cat or 5. Ebony is just a super one. This girl is a show stopper- or would be if people knew a awesome cat when they saw one. Out of that cage she is so loving a sweet. Tossed out in GA tec building. People are so mean!
401473 Josh, GSDx- nice guy, gives awesome kisses! Will make some girl super happy one day. I hope he gets that chance
399410 Mandy. Here is another vetted dog. We love Mandy even though we have no idea what she is. I have her in as a Beagle mix. But I don't know about that. She is a little dog maybe 30 lbs with little low rider legs:)
A398787 Tina! Sweet humble Tina- is totally vetted and ready to go. Why can't people see the beauty of a black dog?!?!?! She is so happy and silly. How can any one walk past her?Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Anti- tethering law
The law is written that no dog can be tethered out side on on any chain, rope, tie out, trolley system etc unless the owner is right there.
This is going to go one of three ways-
one: no one will comply and state they did not know and there will be way way to many for us to police.
Two: Reuses, Dogs Deserve Better, vets, and more help us spread the word and help people learn to bring their dogs in, house train, and walk on leash. People get together and builds fences, educate, help and understands each others points of view. This keeps dogs in homes and maybe even gets them neutered!
Three: The general population freaks out and I have a line a mile long of people surrendering their dogs because they are scared of fines, and don't know how to keep their dogs now that they can't live on a chain. This kind of dog is not social, frustrated and NOT easy to adopt.
So here is the plan.
- PR! We will ask the press to push this until people are sick of hearing about it-TV, Print, Radio
- flyer's, door knockers, posters EVERY WHERE!
- web site info- packed with help on building fences, You tube videos on house training, leash walking, and more.
- We have free spay neuter program- this will help more people use it!
- Free training- we have a dog trainer here every day in August!
There is much more to this plan but this is what I need help with now.
What we need is a street team to be friendly and sweet. Pass out flyer's, invite people to training class, help get dogs spayed and neutered and let me know who you know in the media! This is a good thing and with everyone helping we can do awesome stuff with it.

Saved untill Friday morning

This is Ellissa- her burns are getting better. At this time the care she would need is her bandages changed every 3 days for a few more weeks. No one knows for sure what the burns are from but the vet thinks the marks look like other cases we have seen of hot oil or grease poured on to her. Ellissa was a stray- no one would claim ownership of her so we have no one we can prosecute for her burns. Ellissa will have no justice and unless some one steps up soon- she will have no life. She has been through so much.
This is Clem- she has no worries about what happened, she holds no grudges. I do. When the officer brought her in she had a wound that looked just like the dozens of gun shots we have seen so many times in the past. But no bullet. No owner, no nothing. Just like Ellissa she will die on Friday. No one will ever get to know how sweet she is, no one will walk her proudly through the park and tell everyone they meet how wonderful Pit Bulls can be. This girl will never get to be an ambassador for her breed. Instead people will keep thinking how bad pit bulls are, how mean and how they must all be trained to fight. And the longer people think this the more they will be burned and shot, the more they will be baned from our apartments, communities and our parks. -Jason and Melissa

Dogs that need out NOW and some free stuff
Here is two of my fave dogs. I know the photo is less then okay but here they are on pet finder. Both are totally vetted! Fran (the little black one) came in with a broken leg. We have fixed it and now she is all better. I don't know what she is- just another GA Black Dog.http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=13069387
The white fluffy one is a little Spitz mix and just as happy as she can be.
This is Regina, a sweet boxer mix. I had her at the even this past weekend and she is a heart melter! Just a wiggly and happy as one dog can be! All her vet work is done and she is ready to go! ID #399768
This sweet cattle dog is Poochie. ID# 401428 he is an awesome happy guy who's time is super short now. PLEASE come get him!I have two coupons for $5.00 off any size any variety of Purina. Your welcome to it- just come get them. And perhaps a new dog or cat too?! If you want to join the program to get the coupons every 3 months just sign up for the "give a bowl program" off of Purina's web site.

Bear hw poss
Sweet guy totaly vetted but the hw. Ball crazy!!
********** Adopted 6/21!!!************
And returned on 6/25/09 :( sigh
Today's list
Meet Bruce! He's so scared and shy here- but would not even hurt a fly. Bruce is a gentle giant- he is mostly Dane but a little bit lab and maybe a little English mastiff too. Bruce is guessed at 5 years old. He is good with other dogs. NO adopters have come for him and he is due out on the 17th.
401543 Mad Eye. This sweet boy came in with his eye hanging out. It is the left eye where Popeye the one eye kitten is missing the right- so i am sure you see how awesome of a match set they would be. Mad eye is crazy cuddly and will do anything for a good pet. He came in neutered- we got him UTD on all shots and FIV/LIV tested him - he is negative.******
On a side note I need (!!!!) newspaper!! If you know some place where we can get it please let me know. We were going to Dekalb Farmers Market but they asked us not to dumpster dive there anymore. Any one know a hotel that would like to team us with us? They have news paper and towels- but they never call me back. :(
Today we have a adoption event from 1-5 at Taj Ma- Hound Bakery for Dogs in Decatur. Its a awesome place and you should stop by! I will have a few fully veted dogs with me that can be pulled today. The dog cookies are so cute and Krista (the owner) is very rescue friendly! Atlanta Beagle Rescue will be with us and one dog from Briarcliff Foundation.

Today's list
Sorry about the bad photo on this. Every one is still cleaning this morning so there was no help on leash holding. But this guy is so neat I had to post him! He is a black GSD with the coolest ears ever! The kennel staff said he is super smart but has puppy moments. He is not due out until the 15Th but no adopters have looked at him yet.
This is Elise she had been burned rather badly but is still so happy! The vets say she is awesome to work on because she just loves any petting she can get. We are still treating her but if you have some room let me know and I will get you more info. Thursday, June 11, 2009
